At Kudos, we built our business around helping you get more from your credit cards, not around monetizing your data. We will never sell your personal data to any third party. Here's exactly what we see, how we use it, and how we keep it safe.
What data does Kudos actually see?
Kudos only accesses data that's necessary to power the features you use:
Transaction data — If you connect a bank account through Plaid, we can see your transaction history (merchant names, amounts, dates). This is what helps power card recommendations, subscription detection, and spending insights. Free users get 30 days of history; Premium users get up to 2 years.
Credit profile data — Optionally, through Spinwheel. This is a soft inquiry and does not affect your credit score. You can skip this entirely.
Issuer portal data — When the Kudos browser extension is active, and you visit a supported issuer site (like Chase or Amex), it reads available card-linked offers on your behalf. It does not track your browsing anywhere else.
Support conversations — When you contact support, we collect your name, email, and conversation history through our support provider, Intercom.
Account and payment info — Email address, subscription status, and billing details (payment card details are handled by Stripe or Apple, not stored by Kudos directly).
Do you store my passwords or card numbers?
Passwords/PINs: Only if you use our Cancel for Me or Bill Negotiation features, which require you to explicitly grant Kudos authority to act on your behalf. These credentials are encrypted and not retained beyond what's needed to complete your request.
Full card numbers: No. We only store card type, issuer, and the last 4 digits.
Issuer login credentials: No. The browser extension uses your existing browser session — it does not capture or store your login credentials.
Who do you share my data with?
We share data only with the service providers that power Kudos features and never with marketers or advertisers.

All data shared with AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) is anonymized and cannot be linked back to you specifically.
How is my data protected?
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256)
We follow the principle of least privilege — employees only access what they need
Multi-factor authentication is required for all internal system access
We conduct regular security audits and penetration testing
Third-party vendors are contractually required to meet our security standards
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@joinkudos.com. Note that some data (like redemption history) may be retained for up to 7 years for legal compliance. Deleting your Kudos account will remove your AI-generated insights, active card-linked offer data, connected account data, and Boost rewards.
