How do I link/connect my accounts inside Kudos?

Learn how to connect your bank accounts and credit cards to Kudos using Plaid. Step-by-step instructions for both the mobile app and the web, including how to match your accounts to cards in your wallet.

Connecting Accounts on the Kudos Mobile App for iOS and Android

From the home screen, tap Wallet in the bottom drawer.

Next, tap Sign in with American Express (or whichever issuer it is).

Next, you will be taken to Plaid, our data provider, to connect your account. Next, enter your phone number or tap Continue without phone number.

You'll receive a one-time code as an SMS message if you put in your number. Enter the code and tap Continue.

Next, select your issuer from the list provided.

Tap Continue to log in to your bank account.

Don't see your issuer in the list? You can also type in your issuer from the search bar at the top.

Enter your username and password for your financial institution to allow Plaid to share your account info.

Plaid does not share this login information with Kudos.

After you have successfully logged in and connected your accounts (you can connect them all or select specific ones), you'll be routed back to the Kudos app.


Match your accounts to cards

Unlike some other apps that automatically link accounts, Kudos requires a quick manual match after connecting through Plaid. Plaid tells us a financial account exists, but it doesn't share which specific credit card it belongs to, so we can't auto-match the way some apps do with bank accounts.

This is a one-time step. Once your accounts are matched, everything should sync automatically going forward. That said, some banks require authentication regularly. If that's the case for your financial institution, you may be prompted to sign in again and re-authenticate. It depends on your bank.


Connecting Your Accounts on the Web

From the home screen, click Accounts. Then click Connect bank.

Click Continue.

Next, enter your phone number or click Continue as guest.

You'll receive a one-time code as a text message. Enter the code and click Continue.

Select the accounts you want to link, or click + to add a new account not already associated with a card in your wallet.

Click Continue to log in to your account.

Enter your username and password for your financial institution to allow Plaid to share your account info. Plaid does not share this login information with Kudos.

After you have successfully logged in and connected your accounts (you can connect them all or select specific ones), you'll be routed back to Kudos.

What data Kudos can and cannot access

Kudos can access:

  • the last four digits of the card

  • transaction details like amount, description, and merchant/store

  • account balance

Kudos cannot:

  • see your full card number

  • access your login credentials

  • make payments on your behalf

If your card doesn't sync

Once connected, it may take some time for balances to appear, transactions to sync, and benefits and credits to start tracking. If the card doesn't appear within 24 hours, email support@joinkudos.com for help.

Review your benefits after connecting

After your card is connected, check out the Benefits Tracker to see benefits/credits you've used and haven't used.
