Is the Kudos Browser Extension Required to Earn Cashback?

Short answer: No. The Kudos browser extension is not required to earn Boost cashback.


How Cashback Tracking Works Without the Extension

When you click a merchant or referral link directly through the Kudos website, your purchase is tracked via that link. As long as you complete your purchase in the same browser session without clearing cookies or activating another rewards program, cashback will be attributed to your account automatically.

This means you can earn Boost cashback without the extension installed, as long as you shop through Kudos links.


What the Extension Actually Does

The browser extension and mobile app are designed to make the experience faster and more automatic. With either installed, you get:

  • Automatic detection of partner merchants as you browse

  • One-click Boost activation at checkout

  • Real-time card recommendations at checkout

  • Card-linked offer (CLO) auto-activation across Amex, Chase, Citi, and Bank of America

These features enhance your experience, but they are not a requirement for cashback to be earned or attributed to your account.


My Purchase Isn't Showing Up. What Do I Do?

If a purchase isn't appearing in your Boost activity log, here are a few things to check:

  • Did you click the merchant link directly through Kudos before completing your purchase?

  • Did you complete the purchase in the same browser session without navigating away?

  • Did you activate another cashback or rewards program during the same session? Did you use an ad blocker before adding Kudos to the allowlist? This can interfere with Kudos tracking.

Where Can I See My Tracked Purchases?

Log in to your Kudos account and navigate to the Activity section of your dashboard. There you'll find a full log of your tracked purchases, activated Boosts, and cashback earned.
