Why are Boost reward points not posting or missing after eligible purchases?

Use this article if your Kudos Boost reward points are missing, not posting, or not showing after a purchase.

When you shop through Kudos, we earn an affiliate commission from the merchant, and we pass 100% of that commission back to you as your Boost reward. If your Boost didn't post, here are the most common reasons and what you can do about them. Common questions this covers: "missing boost," "boost not posting," "boost didn't track," "eligible purchase but no boost," and "how can I confirm I got my boost."

How long does it take for Boost rewards to post?

Boost rewards go through a confirmation period before they're credited to your account:

  1. Merchant review (typically 45–90 days): After your purchase, the merchant verifies the transaction, checking for cancellations, returns, or other conditions. This window is set by the merchant, not Kudos.

  2. Automatic credit: Once the merchant confirms, your Boost reward is automatically applied to your account.

  3. Still nothing after 90 days? Contact us at support@joinkudos.com with your transaction details, and we'll dig in for you.

Understanding transaction statuses

Every Boost transaction is assigned a status:

  • Complete — Your reward was successfully awarded.

  • Pending — We're waiting for the merchant to confirm your purchase. This typically takes 45–90 days, though travel purchases may take up to 180 days after your trip is completed.

  • Disqualified — The transaction didn't meet Boost requirements, and no reward was issued. This means we didn't earn a commission on your purchase, so there was nothing to pass along as a Boost reward.

  • Action needed — Your purchase isn't tracking back to Kudos and we need to look into it. Please send us a copy of your receipt with your order number, purchase date, order total, and items purchased, and we'll get it sorted.

    • Note: We can only investigate orders within 90 days of the purchase date. After that window closes, we're unable to submit a claim with our affiliate partner.

Why rewards sometimes don't post

Even when you've made an eligible purchase, a few things can prevent Boost from getting credit:

  • Affiliate attribution conflict: Another browser extension (like Honey or Rakuten) claimed credit for the transaction first. When that happens, the merchant's commission goes to them, and Kudos can't award your Boost reward.

  • Tracking interruption: Blocked cookies or disabled tracking during checkout can prevent the transaction from being properly recorded.

  • New tab or window: Opening a new tab or window after activating Boost can break the tracking session.

How to make sure Boost posts correctly

  1. Enable cookies and tracking before starting your shopping session.

  2. Disable other rewards extensions (Honey, Rakuten, etc.) before checkout to avoid attribution conflicts.

  3. Check store exclusions — some items are excluded from earning Boost rewards based on the merchant's terms. You can view excluded items for any store directly in the Kudos portal before you check out.

  4. Activate Boost before you shop and complete checkout within 24 hours of activation.

  5. Stay in the same tab from activation through checkout — don't open a new window or navigate away mid-session.

  6. Even checking prices on Google or searching for coupons in another tab can interrupt tracking, so stay focused in the same tab from the moment you start shopping through checkout.

  7. Use Kudos as the only active extension — ensure that Kudos is the only active browser extension during your purchase. Clicking on external deal links or using other extensions can steal attribution.

  8. Complete purchases promptly — always complete your purchase within 24 hours of activating Kudos Boost to ensure it falls within the attribution window.
