What is the card open date?
Your card open date is the day your credit card account was opened. Adding it helps Kudos calculate your earnings over time and keep your Benefits Tracker accurate for each card. You can set or update it on the Kudos website or in the Kudos mobile app. It only takes a few seconds per card.
Set your card open date on the web
Log in to Kudos on the web and go to your Wallet.
Select the card you want to update to open its Card Details page.
Scroll to the Account overview section.
Next to Card opened, click Set date. If a date is already saved, you will see Edit instead.
Enter the date your card was opened and save.
If several of your cards are missing an open date, Kudos will walk you through adding them one after another. You can undo a change if you make a mistake.
Set your card open date in the mobile app
Open the Kudos app and tap Wallet in the bottom menu.
Tap the card you want to update.
Tap the Balance tab. The open date is not on the Details tab.
Next to Card opened, tap Set date.
Enter the date in MM/DD/YYYY format and save.
Other places you can add it
If a card is missing its open date, Kudos may also prompt you to add it while you use other features:
Web: a banner may appear asking you to add open dates for cards that are missing them, including in your Earnings Overview.
Mobile: you can add the date from the Value Breakdown on the Home tab or from a card's summary in the Benefits Tracker.
Wherever you add it, the date is saved to your card and shows up across the website and the app.
Frequently asked questions
I don't see "Set date" in the app. Where is it?
Make sure you are on the card's Balance tab, not the Details tab. The Card opened row sits below your current balance.
Where can I find my card's open date?
Check your card issuer's website or app, your first statement, or the welcome letter that came with your card. If you are unsure of the exact day, the month and year you opened the card is a good start.
Can I change the date after I set it?
Yes. On the web, click Edit next to Card opened on the card's Details page and enter the new date.
Do I need to connect my card to set the date?
No. You can add the open date whether or not your card or bank account is connected.
