Why does a benefit show as "assumed" or unconfirmed?

Some benefits, like Uber Cash, can't be verified directly with the merchant. Here's what an "assumed" credit means, why a benefit may show as $0 or unconfirmed, and what to do if something looks wrong.

Most of your card credits and benefits are tracked automatically. For a few of them, though, we can't connect directly to the merchant account - Uber Cash on certain cards is a common example - so we can't confirm on our own that the reward actually landed in your account.

For those, we use what we call an assumed credit.

🔍 How assumed credits work

  • Based on your spending, we estimate that you likely received the benefit.

  • We prompt you to confirm whether you actually got it.

  • Once you confirm, we mark the credit as used for that period.

If a benefit shows as $0 or unconfirmed, it usually doesn't mean something is broken. It most often means we're waiting on your confirmation, not that tracking failed.

🛠️ What to do if a benefit looks wrong

  1. Click into the specific benefit to see its tracking history.

  2. Check whether there's a confirmation prompt waiting on a response.

  3. If you've already confirmed the benefit and it still isn't reflecting correctly, reach out to support and we'll take a look.

You can review all of your benefits anytime in the Benefits Tracker. Still stuck? Email us at support@joinkudos.com, and we'll be happy to help.
