When a credit uses assumed tracking (like certain Uber-related benefits), Kudos shows you the transactions from that merchant during the time period we believe the benefit applies to. A couple of things about how this works can look confusing at first glance.
đ Why it only shows one time period at a time
Assumed credits are confirmed one period at a time. If you see transactions from a past month (for example, May) rather than your most recent activity, it likely means you already confirmed the assumed redemption for more recent periods (like July, August, and September), and you're now looking at an earlier, still-unconfirmed period.
Recent purchases with that merchant won't show up under a period you've already confirmed. They'll appear once you work through to the corresponding pending period.
đ Why unrelated transactions from the same merchant can show up
Assumed tracking shows all transactions with that merchant during the relevant period, not just the ones tied to a specific benefit. This is because the underlying transaction data doesn't always distinguish between different products from the same merchant.
For example, if your card offers separate Uber Cash and Uber One credits, a benefit may show both your Uber rides/Uber Eats purchases and your Uber One subscription charge together, since both come through as "Uber" transactions. This doesn't mean the wrong credit was applied, it means we're showing you everything that indicates you engaged with that merchant during the period, so you can judge for yourself whether the specific benefit was likely used.
A benefit's title (e.g., "UberEats") may also only reflect one of the merchant names tied to it, even if the benefit can apply to related merchants under the same parent company.
đ What "assumed" really means
Think of assumed credits as one step below a fully automatic ("Auto") credit. An Auto credit means we're certain the benefit was used. An assumed credit means: "We see that you engaged with this merchant during this period. We can't confirm for certain that this specific benefit was used, so here's the activity we found, please confirm whether it applies."
You can review and confirm assumed credits anytime in the Benefits Tracker. If something still looks off after reviewing your confirmed periods, email us at support@joinkudos.com and we'll take a look.
