Why are my credits showing as unused? (Authorized user accounts)

If your Benefits Tracker shows credits as unused, check that your primary card account is linked.

If you know you've used your card credits but Kudos shows them as unused, your card may be linked to the wrong account. This usually happens when you have an authorized user, also called an additional cardholder, on your card.

Why this happens

When you add an authorized user to a credit card, your bank login may show two separate accounts:

  • Your primary card account. For example, "Platinum Card®."

  • The authorized user's account. For example, "Additional Platinum Card®."

Both cards share a single billing account, and your issuer sends one statement to the primary cardholder. That means statement credits post to the primary account, even when the authorized user made the qualifying purchase.

If you linked your card to the authorized user's account instead, we can see the authorized user's purchases, but not the credits. That makes your benefits and credits look unused even when you've redeemed them.

How to check which account is linked

  1. Open your Kudos wallet on the web or in the mobile app, and go to the card whose credits look unused.

  2. Tap or click Edit next to the connected account. A window will show the account currently linked to that card.

  3. Check the account name. If it includes "Additional" or "Authorized User," or shows the authorized user's name, the card is linked to the wrong account.

How to fix it

  1. In the same Edit window, open the dropdown. It lists all your linked accounts for that bank.

  2. Select your primary account. For example, choose "Platinum Card®," not "Additional Platinum Card®." Match it to the last four digits of your own card (the primary cardholder's), which you can find on the back of your physical card or in your bank's app.

  3. Click Confirm to save.

You can also do this from your Account Connections settings. Scroll to "Successfully Connected Cards," click Edit on the card, and select the primary account.

Don't see your primary account in the dropdown?

You may have connected only the authorized user's account when you linked your bank. Go to Connect Accounts, reconnect your bank, and make sure your primary account is selected. Then follow the steps above to match it to your card.

Here's a short tutorial on YouTube, as well:

Once your card is linked to the primary account, new credits will track automatically after your next transaction sync. If any credits from earlier in the year still show as unused, you can mark them as used manually in the Benefits Tracker.
