Why Your Offers Aren't Syncing

What the last synced date on your cards means, how to trigger a fresh sync of your card-linked offers, and what to check when the sync isn't going through.

Kudos does not pull your card-linked offers in real time. We refresh them when you visit your card issuer's portal with the Kudos extension active. If your cards show a "last synced" date from weeks ago, it means that refresh has not happened recently, not that your cards are disconnected.

What the "Last Synced" Date Means

Every linked card shows when Kudos last read your offers from that issuer. Until a new sync happens:

  • New offers your issuer added will not appear in Kudos

  • Offers that expired since the last sync may still show as available

  • Amounts or spend thresholds that changed will show the older values

A stale sync date does not affect offers you already activated. Those stay activated on your issuer's side.

How to Trigger a Fresh Sync

On desktop:

  1. Make sure the Kudos extension is installed and updated

  2. Go to your issuer's website and log in (americanexpress.com, chase.com, citi.com, or bankofamerica.com)

  3. Navigate to the offers or rewards page for your card

  4. When the Kudos prompt appears, click Activate. This is the step that actually runs the sync

  5. Wait for the prompt to finish before closing the tab

On mobile, open your issuer's site in Safari with the Kudos Safari extension enabled and follow the same steps. Repeat for each issuer separately. Syncing Amex does not sync your Visa or Mastercard offers.

The Most Common Cause: the Prompt Was Never Clicked

The Kudos prompt appearing is not the same as the sync running. If the prompt shows up and you close it, navigate away, or let the page reload before it finishes, no sync is recorded and your last synced date stays where it was.

If you are not sure whether it went through, go back to your issuer portal and watch for the prompt. Click Activate and stay on the page until it completes, then check your last synced date in the Kudos app.

Ad Blockers and Privacy Extensions

Ad blockers, privacy extensions, and strict browser tracking protection can block the Kudos activation prompt from running, even when the prompt itself looks like it appeared. This is one of the most common reasons a sync silently fails on desktop.

To rule it out:

  1. Add an exception for joinkudos.com and your card issuer's site in your ad blocker settings, or temporarily pause the ad blocker on those sites

  2. Reload your issuer's offers page

  3. Click Activate when the Kudos prompt appears

Other shopping or coupon extensions can conflict in the same way. If you have several installed, try disabling them and syncing again.

Other Things to Check

  • Auto-activation is toggled off: Open the Kudos extension pop-up and confirm Auto-activate card offers is on. This is a separate toggle from Auto-activate Boost. See Turning Off Auto-Activation Popups

  • You are not fully logged in: Some issuer pages load before your login is confirmed. Log in first, then refresh the offers page

  • You are in the issuer's app instead of a browser: On iPhone and Android, tapping a login link often opens the native issuer app. The Kudos extension cannot sync inside a native app. Type your issuer's URL directly into Safari instead

  • Your extension is out of date: Update Kudos to the latest version and try again

  • Your issuer is not supported: Kudos currently syncs offers from American Express, Chase, Citi, and Bank of America. See Supported Issuers & Compatibility

How Often Should I Sync?

Issuers refresh their offer lineups regularly, so we recommend syncing every card every few weeks. Kudos does not email you when new offers land, though you may see a resync reminder in the app or extension.

Still Stuck?

If your last synced date has not moved after trying the steps above, email us at support@joinkudos.com with:

  • Which issuer and card is affected

  • The last synced date showing on that card

  • Whether you are on desktop or mobile, and which browser

  • Any ad blockers or other extensions you have installed

  • A screenshot of the last synced date and of the Kudos prompt if you see one

For questions about a statement credit that did not post, contact your card issuer directly. They manage offer fulfillment, not Kudos.
