Overview & Getting Started

Learn what card-linked offers are and how to activate them with Kudos. Start saving at the brands you already shop with. No manual clicking required.

What are Card-Linked Offers?

Card-linked offers (CLOs) are discounts and cashback deals provided directly by credit card issuers, including American Express, Chase, Citi, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo (Capital One support is coming soon). These offers typically provide 10-30% savings at brands you already shop with, like 4% back at Amazon, 10% off at Whole Foods, $20 back at Sephora, or 15% cashback at Target.

Once activated, these offers automatically apply when you use your linked card at the eligible merchant. No codes or coupons needed.

How does Kudos help with Card-Linked Offers?

Kudos automatically detects and activates all available card-linked offers when you visit your issuer portal with our extension installed. Instead of manually clicking through hundreds of offer tiles across multiple issuer websites, Kudos activates them all with one visit.

At checkout, Kudos:

  • Surfaces relevant active offers you have

  • Recommends which card to use based on active offers, baseline rewards, and any welcome bonuses you're tracking

  • Shows you the total value you'll earn from the purchase

How do I activate Card-Linked Offers with Kudos?

You must have a Kudos Premium subscription to auto-activate your card-linked offers. We recommend completing your first activation on desktop with the Kudos browser extension for the most reliable experience.

On desktop (recommended):

Install the Kudos browser extension (Chrome, Edge, or Safari) and visit your issuer portal while logged in. Kudos will automatically activate all available offers. Note: Kudos will open your issuer portal in a new window to complete the activation. This is expected.

The browser extension is required on desktop for both offer activation and checkout reminders.

On iPhone:

  1. Open the Kudos app

  2. Tap Benefits & Offers in the bottom navigation bar

  3. Tap Activate Offers

  4. Kudos will prompt you to log in to your card issuer's website in Safari. Go to the website directly (e.g., chase.com, americanexpress.com). Do not open your bank's native app

  5. Log in, and Kudos will automatically activate your available offers across all your cards

  6. Repeat for each issuer you have cards with

The Kudos extension is not required for offer activation on iOS. However, checkout reminders are only available if you also have the Kudos extension installed on desktop.

Important: iOS will sometimes automatically redirect you to your bank's app when you tap a login link. Kudos cannot activate offers inside a native app. If this happens, open Safari and type your issuer's URL directly (e.g., chase.com) to log in from the website instead.

On Android:

After installing the mobile app from Google Play, tap Activate Offers on the home screen, then follow the steps above.

Once you complete the initial setup, you do not need to activate offers again each time. Kudos will automatically pick up new offers as your issuers add them.

Note: checkout reminders are not currently available on Android, as there is no browser extension for mobile Chrome.

How long does activation take?

Your first activation can take up to 10 minutes since Kudos is processing all of your offers at once. After that, future activations are much faster. Occasionally, a large new batch of offers may arrive at once, in which case that batch may take a bit longer than usual.

Troubleshooting: Offers Not Activating?

  • Make sure you are logging in to your issuer's website in a browser, not the issuer's native app

  • On iPhone, if Safari redirects you to your bank's app, open Safari and navigate directly to your issuer's website instead

  • Still having trouble? Switching to a desktop browser with the Kudos extension installed will always work reliably
